Our History
With a foundation in General Carpentry from Conestoga, Liam Parkes embarked on a career in the building trades in 2011, starting with a small company where he immersed himself in every facet of construction. Through hands-on learning, Liam honed his skills and developed a meticulous attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
Progressing to the role of Site Supervisor, Liam took on the challenge of redeveloping light commercial properties and leading multi-unit residential apartment projects. Liam’s responsibilities included securing permits, managing sites, coordinating trades, and ensuring high-quality outcomes.
In 2015, fueled by dedication and expertise, Liam founded Compass Construction, expanding his capabilities and scope of work. For over two years, he served as a Project Manager and Lead General Contractor in Toronto, specializing in high-end luxury renovations.
Notable projects included a $10 million dollar residence featuring $2 million in renovations. Highlights of these projects encompassed creating bespoke spaces such as a high-end wine cellar, a fully soundproofed nightclub, a professional gym, and a custom aquarium.
Liam’s portfolio also includes the facilitation of specialized trades, collaborating with Structural Engineers, Designers, and HVAC Experts to design functional spaces. One highlight was constructing a custom cigar room within a residential setting. Liam has also worked closely with custom metal fabricators and specialized trim and millwork professionals to achieve unparalleled craftsmanship.
Today, Liam continues to bring his passion for precision and innovation to every project. Along with his team of skilled trades and suppliers, Compass Construction ensures exceptional results and client satisfaction.
